Paul Simon ‘Graceland’ Documentary To Be Released
A new documentary celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Paul Simon’s ‘Graceland‘ album, is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, on January 22.
Titled ‘Paul Simon: Under African Skies‘, the feature length documentary will tell the story of the making of ‘Graceland’, and the controversy created when Simon went to South Africa during the apartheid, to record with local artists.
It will also feature interviews with key anti-apartheid activists of the time, as well as musical legends like Quincy Jones, Harry Belafonte, Paul McCartney, David Byrne and Peter Gabriel
‘Under African Skies‘, comes from two-time Emmy and Peabody Award winning filmmaker Joe Berlinger (“Brother’s Keeper,” “Metallica: Some Kind of Monster,” the West Memphis Three/”Paradise Lost” trilogy).
The new documentary will be available with a 25th Anniversary deluxe collector’s box of ‘Graceland‘ later this year.
The reissue will feature a commemorative collector’s box set as well as a two-disc set featuring both the original album, bonus tracks and the director’s cut of ‘Paul Simon: Under African Skies’.
